Short Days of Winter

Well, hibernation mode has set in like clockwork. First I get crabby then I get hungry ...then I hit the couch hopefully with a good book.  Yesterday I got some wool from the scrap bin and started to piece.  I am constantly amazed at how yeilding wool can be at the ironing board with heat & steam. There is a need for a few more holiday stockings around here, so I just might  fashion this wool into a stocking or two...or I might make some pieced clothing for the JabberWooleys. My hibernation is self imposed exile, the process of resting and then letting the creative concoction ferment....sounds like sour kraut actually.

Comments on JabberWooleys

I just finished 2 Fall sales and the reception of the JabberWooleys has been spectacular. I think that is the most fun, hearing comments from everyone. It is like the little critters have souls that reach out to others. Everyone feels comforted by these strange looking critters in cute plaid pleated skirts....I want to thank KK for making beads and glass eyes for the next generation of dolls for the Roeder Home Sale in November. I can hardly wait to get started making these bright eyed characters. Thank you, Kathryn!

Hoilday Sale at the historic Roeder Home in Bellingham WA

I just posted the times and dates for the Roeder Home Holiday Sale. The Roeder is a gorgeous  turn of the century historic location here in Bellingham WA my home town. I recall last year after initially setting up for the event, I returned home with this bereft feeling.  Suffering from the ultimate sleepover parent panic attack, I realized all my little creatures would be alone in a dark locked house all night!  I had to have a little wine to calm down!

We are looking forward to visiting with all of our customers from Washington and Canada too, who love the sale as much as the artisans do.

Hello Australia!

Don't you love the internet? One of my little JabberWooleys is on her way to Australia.....safe journey little one.....

Sailing in the San Juans

For those of you lucky enough to live near the San Juan Islands, check out the website of the Gato Verde. Tonight captain Todd took us out on a 4 hour sail....it was a bit rainy here but spirits were high aboard the Gato and it was excellent, smooth sailing. The Gato Verde sleeps about 8-9 and I would highly recommend her.

Birthday Month

Never thought I would be one of those who wanted to ignore my birthday, but this year was one of them. We saw Meryl Streep in Mama Mia, though, and she really perked me up.  That wedding scene was reminiscent of some of the weddings in our family...and we have a few more coming next summer so I'd better get my dancing queen shoes ready!  The only project I've worked on this summer was a box collage. I can honestly say it draws me in whenever I pass it. I am also working on some collage journals........

Thank you

Yikes! This summer weather in the Northwest is incredible!  I am thinking of new ways to dress the JabberWoolies---with wool trimmed in satins---but so far it is only an idea. It is so hard to come in from the garden! Thank You for visiting my website and also to my three gorgeous daughters for helping me launch the site.  More later.....
